I have a Question

Referring to Iran's President Ahmedijan's statements from Mecca today that The Holocaust may have been overblown and that Israel should be in Europe (he should read history, no one in Europe wanted the Jews, neither did America, Palestine was somewhere they could stick them, and come on Iran stop being such a fuck up.)
I need help on the item in bold, Have the Israelis been in Israel longer than the Persians in Persia?

Raanan Gissin, a spokesman for Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, said in Tel Aviv that Ahmadinejad was voicing "the consensus that exists in many circles in the Arab world that the Jewish people ... do not have the right to establish a Jewish, democratic state in their ancestral homeland".
"Just to remind Mr. Ahmadinejad, we've been here long before his ancestors were here," Gissin said. "Therefore, we have a birthright to be here in the land of our forefathers and to live here. Thank God we have the capability to deter and to prevent such a statement from becoming a reality."

Speechifying Agin

Well I was going to put up a post on Bush's speech, but to be honest I didn't listen to it. Not because I didn't care, but well, listening to Bush talk is like getting pulled naked through a field of broken glass. I know, that sounds elitist and pejorative of me, but screw it, his drawl has gotten so pronounced, his pace has slowed to that of a drunken snail, and the man needs to hire some new speech writers (cause you and I both know he isn't writing this claptrap).
From the post speech wrap-up I gathered these things,
1. That Bush finally talked about the types of people fueling the insurgency, and that it's not all foreign fighters. Good this is as good a place to start as any, because it is obvious now that the insurgency has been based and built by a disaffected Sunni minority. The faster we realize this and work to co-opt the Sunnis the faster we can get out of there (but first, and most importantly NO SHIITE DEATH SQUADS)
2. the "national strategy for victory" is a timid attempt at policy. I skimmed it yesterday after the speech and like alot of people found it to be lacking in substance and remarkably optimistic in it's projections. Now alot of people have criticized it and i would have to take a moment to link to thinkprogess's debunking, but hell at this point I'll give Georgie Boy a little credit for trying to fix the fuckup he created.
3. Conservatives and Liberals no longer see anything close to eye-to-eye, which is going to fuck things up as we try to extricate ourselves from this situation, and yes, I blame O'Reilly for it.

No Help For the Wicked

Where is the sense of moral outrage?
Not any for Old Dukey Cunningham, as of 3:20 there are no, i repeat no mentions of Dukey on any of the conservative blogs, now how could this be?
I thought they were fair and impartial unlike the "left".
Oh well, maybe not.

IRS Check This Out

Possibly a case for the IRS...

"The battle over embryonic stem cell research moved into the pews Sunday, as Roman Catholic priests across Missouri urged churchgoers to oppose a petition seeking a constitutional amendment that would protect the controversial work."
Hmm, priest campaigning against a constitutional amendment, where's the IRS when you need them?
Without a trace of irony in his pedophile coddling bones Rev. Joseph Smith preaching at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City, MO said

"The similarities of the arguments behind the destruction of life by the Nazis and the use of human embryos [for stem cell research] are scary," he told hundreds of worshippers at a morning Mass. "There are real human lives that need our support and protection."

Real human lives, hmm, wonder what these priesties think of the war, or any war, or any violence done towards full living members of our species?
Oh, but only the unborn ones count I forgot that.
Missouri, I know you and I have had our differences over the years, but please don't let theology run your sciences, the last thing you need is to be the center of the New Dark Ages, that's what downstate missourah already is.

Monday Rundown

Ok, here's what I've picked up so far, with little or no attribution at all.
1. Bushco is attempting to take the exit strategy page away from Democrats, how, by taking their plan, my guess, they'll be a dramatic pulldown in troops right before the next election, letting Repubs bask in the glow of our fearless leader and they hope to forestall a repub bloodletting in congress.
2. Duke Cunningham...Indicted, good for you SoCal, that's what happens when you take bribes kiddies.
3. Bush may be crazy. I don't think so, but there is chatter.
4. The Fitz circus goes on and on, with Vivaca Fox Novak testifying who really knows what the Fitz is hiding, I hope it's a Turdblossom Indictment, well at least before the next election.
5. Thanksgiving is over, sad, christmas is coming, good, Happy Holidays=Secular Lefty Plot to Re-Kill Christ. I wonder which makes Jesus madder, not having his birthday celebrated or turning it into an orgy of materialism, I think Happy Holidays must have churned his butter. But then old J-Dogg would have been celebrating Hanukkah, so maybe he would have been down.
In conclusion the world is as fucked up as it was last week, but now there's nothing between us and Christmas but a few weeks.

Baby Bulls

Unfortunatley wasn't able to watch Tim and the rest of the boys on Friday because I was in the piney hinterlands, but needless to say I got the message, Los Spurs blow it in the fourth . Now this strikes me as one of those solveable problems, and I was pleased to see KSAT reporting that the Spurs had a hard practice. But one must wonder, is there a little age showing. I hope not, not this early into the season, if there is some sign of an aging Spur team I think we are in some serious shit. But I think a more likely explanation is a team that's not quite in the shape they need to be, the tank gets empty a little faster early in the season, and I fully expect this trend to stop soon, I hope.
We'll have to see how the game tomorrow against Kobe Beef and the Zen master goes, I like the Spurs coming off a loss to take it to the Lakes, but with struggles in the Fourth vs. Kobe, it could come down to some late game Bruce Bowen defense. Let's hope that the Spurs can get their proverbial shit together and send the flakers packing.
Oh and the Texans suck, the Rams suck just a little bit less, Jay Feely is a chump, Vince Young won't win a Heisman without a killer game against CO and Reggie Bush pulling a George Bush.

Thankgiving

Here's what I'm giving thanks for,
1. The American Public are starting to wake up to the disinformative, disassembling, underhanded bunch of characters in the White House, thanks everybody with your vigilance we can get this country back on track. (From the WSJ no less)
2. Murray Waas for being a fine investigative reporter (Woodward/Miller, yes, you should be taking notes.)
3. For the troops serving in harm's way, I hope you get more than a plastic turkey this Thanksgiving, may God be on your side tomorrow and everyday til you're back.
4. For friends and family, known and unknown.
5. For America, even though there's a lot of people out there who want to ruin it, I give thanks for the freedom, the independence, the resilience and the people of this great nation who do the little things to make life better.

Ok, well I'll be in the piney woods this weekend, letting Huxley Ann (Master Shredder) run her little brains out, to everyone out there, have a very happy Thanksgiving, go Texas and wishing you all a few days to stop thinking about Bush.
Safe Travels,
-Matt

The Murthafication of Iraq

So after all the rhetoric around Jack Murtha, with Democrats being called traitors and accused of supporting terrorism, despite the Iraqi governments clear indication that they have finished with our presence. We're not going to cut and run right? Or maybe we are.
Secretary of State Rice, speaking to FoxNews (big surprise) said today that, "I do not think that American forces need to be there in the numbers that they are now because — for very much longer — because Iraqis are stepping up", ok well that's encouraging, and what else, "The Post, citing unidentified senior military officers, said one brigade will be kept "on call" in Kuwait in case more troops are needed quickly.", gosh that sounds suspiciously like the over the horizon group of Marines that Murtha was looking for.
Wow classic strategy, bash the messenger into silence and then steal his plans. It seems like the old, "why ya punching yourself" strategy. Democrats, don't let them set the agenda, keep pushing new ideas, like not sucking.
To quote the irrepressible Nelson Muntz, Democrats "stop endangering yourself.

Good Night

As sad as this sounds I don't have Al Gore's miracle invention at my house, so for anyone who stops by tonight, here's an open thread for all of you.
This is my milk and cookies for santa, someone eat them, I don't care who, just someone.

If we're bombing anybody, why not FOX?

I don't know why this would surprise anyone, but a British Civil Servant has been charged under the "official secrets act" for leaking a document that reputedly shows that Tony Blair had to urge "W" not to bomb the Doha, Qatar based offices of Al-Jazeera.
Now whether or not this is true remains to be seen. I personally would love to see this memo. If in fact this is true this is such complete and utter bullshit, that it makes me sick to my stomach. Here we have Al-Jazeera, not exactly the cream of the journalistic crop, but nonetheless a fairly reliable journalistic entity operating in the worst area of the world for journalists. Yes, they may show some Al-Qaeda recruitment videos, they may air atrocities committed by the US, but that shit is on their beat, for god's sake Al-Jazeera is the one independent (with a little oversight from the pretty Liberal Qatari government) media outlet in the entire middle east, and President Cowboy wants to bomb it, good thinking Tex.
Now I don't want to turn this into some referendum on the truthfulness or efficacy of Al-Jazeera, but at least Judy Miller and Booby Woodward don't work there.

Sacramento

Ok, what the fuck is up with the Spurs and their 4th quarter meltdowns. They dominate all game and then right when they should be icing it they start to choke. Now don't get me wrong, Bonzi Wells and Bibby had great games, Bibby was ice cold and I really thought he was going to make that shot to take it to overtime, but the Spurs should have put that game out of reach. Tony Parker taking that 3 ball near the end, I'm sure that Tony felt like he was on, but that's a Bruce or an Horry shot.
Ok, well I will take limping out of Sacramento, I won't like it, but I'll take it.
See you in Oakland.

Silly Dick

"A precipitous withdrawal from Iraq would be a victory for the terrorists, an invitation to further violence against free nations and a terrible blow for the future security of the U.S.," Cheney said in a speech at the American Enterprise Institute,...
But Vice President Troll, the Iraqis want us out. Oh and they feel attacks against American troops are ok as long as it is "that insurgents should not be labeled as terrorists if their operations do not target innocent civilians or institutions designed to provide for the welfare of Iraqi citizens", right, I don't see a liberator's exception in there, do you Dick? So why the talk about staying, I say fuck em, let them sort their shit out, leave a few troops to make sure Zarqawi doesn't come for us, and say hasta la vista bitches.
But of course Vice president Hally Burton, probably needs us there to watch over his precious oil wells. Ok, well American Military, good luck, and I hope you remember the Troll when you finally get home.

Tom DeLay

Little Tommy's Back in Court today and guess what? He still thinks he's innocent. Now I know DeGuerin's a damn good lawyer, and I wouldn't doubt that he will do his damndest to get Tommy off the hook. But with everything swirling around Jack Abramoff and little Mr. Scanlon's bit of Jimmy the Squealer, I think Tommy may need something a little better than just a lawyer, he may need a little bit of that divine intervention.

I shall, Proceed to Continue, to Rock the Mike

Where to start, I have to say that I struggled with the decision on whether or not to go back in the past and fill in my feelings on the happenings of this "delightful period" in American History, but for the sake of time and brain power I've decided to begin fresh and you will all have to suffice with a short explanations of my impressions,
1. Pres. G.W.Bush- wow, at this point he just makes me laugh, and knowing he has the nukular briefcase puts me on the floor, oh and remembering we still have 3 more years that's when I join the Miles Davis Club.
2. Cheney- Troll, ogre, goblin; lives under a bridge, eats children and puppies, would torture his own mother if she was still alive.
3. John Bolton- Love the 'stash, goo goo ga joob.
4. Valerie Plame, how dare she classify her name, being married to a well respected Librul is treason and worthy grounds for summary hanging.
5. Irak- I don't even know what to say, I would say I warned you, but no one was listening, so all I can say now is God help us if we fuck it up.

Ok, that's it for the wrap up, in the words of me, bring it bitches.

A Confession

Ok, I feel like I need to own up to something.
I'm a lurker, or I was a lurker.
Trolling the waters of such fine blogs as http://www.americablog.org, or the work of atrios over at eschaton http://www.atrios.blogspot.com, I get my criminal law and drug policy tidbits at http://www.talkleft.com, and for my daily dose of Patriarch bashing I turn to http://www.pandagon.net .
But lately I've come to the conclusion that I've taken my lurking to it's logical conclusion, I need to write for myself. Dangerous, yes but the time of being merely a sponge is over, and new I need to regurgitate all over all of you.
Good luck and bring a tarp.

Welcome

Since no one will read this ever, I'd just like to start off saying a few things.
Welcome-I'm glad I could join me here, it's a pleasure to have great people like myself here, and I'm sure I will appreciate all the help I give myself in the months to come. So in closing I thank me and look forward to working with myself.
Good Day.
